That’s a good question! I am a first-generation Mexican-American writer with a lifelong passion for stories, especially those that transport you into other worlds.

Growing up, I rarely saw characters who looked or spoke like me. And even though I always loved writing, I didn’t think I was “good enough” to turn my stories into a real book. As a first-gen daughter of immigrants, I felt I needed to pursue something practical to make my parents’ sacrifices worthwhile.

So, I stopped writing… for a while.

But my imagination never really shut off. Fiction became my refuge through Kdramas, rom-coms, anime, and YA fantasy. Eventually, I realized: if I ever wrote a book, it had to be from the perspective of someone like me—someone who shares my culture, voice, and experience.

That decision led to When Darkness Falls, my debut paranormal romance about grief, identity, and finding your place in a world that doesn’t always make space for you. My stories blend the magical with the emotional, the supernatural with the deeply personal.

Outside of writing …

I’m a big fan of Halloween, Scooby-Doo, true crime podcasts, and exploring my heritage—especially Día de los Muertos, which I didn’t grow up celebrating but now feel deeply connected to.
